Side Steps

What are side steps?

Side steps - also known as side rails, sliders or running boards - give a thin step that sits under the doors of your vehicle, providing help in getting in and out of a vehicle and also a bit of protection for the side panels. Side steps are normally installed on large or high-lift vehicles, including 4WDs.

Types of side steps

Traditional side steps

Individual steps or pads fixed to each side of the vehicle, available in numerous types of trims for maximised foot grip and good looking designs designs.

Rock sliders

Rock sliders are not intended as a step but they act as a great assist to get in and out of the vehicle. The primary use of this tube that runs from the front to the rear wheel is to protect your vehicle from large rocks and flying debris in rough road conditions.

Side rails

A tubular steel rail runs from the bullbar to the rear wheel, below the doors and above the front wheels. Again the rails primary use is protection, but with high-grip sheeting applied they are great steps.

Electric side steps

Electric side steps automatically open when they sense your vehicle's door opens and close after the door has closed.

Improved vehicle access & protection all-in-one

An easy access step into your 4WD and also essential protection for your vehicle's side and front side panels against damage from rocks and other dangers when you're off road.

Look for a checkered plate treads on your brush bars

For the best grip for work boots in all weather conditions, choose brush bars with checkered plate treads.

Make sure they're made with durable materials

Brush bars should be constructed with high grade materials, SPHC oil and pickled steel for maximum strength and resistance.
